The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) Division of Waste and Hazardous Substances (WHS) Remediation Section (RS) has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of the 5408 DuPont Parkway Site (DE-1860) (Site) located at 5408 DuPont Parkway in Smyrna. The Site has historically operated as an automobile salvage yard. The 5408 DuPont Parkway Site consists of approximately 13.67 acres. The Site is developed with a commercial building located in the northern portion of the property.
The 5408 DuPont Parkway Site will be subject to the following key remedial actions: the recording of an Environmental Covenant restricting the site use to commercial uses and restriction of groundwater withdrawal for residential purposes.
DNREC-RS issued a public notice of the Proposed Plan of Remedial Action (Proposed Plan) for the 5408 DuPont Parkway Site on July 9, 2025. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan.
