The Department has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of the Clifford Brown Walk & E. 12th St. site located in Wilmington. The Site was historically operated as a tannery and later repurposed into a parking lot and recreational area. The Site requires development of a Remedial Action Work Plan, installation of a vapor mitigation system, development of and compliance with the Contaminated Materials Management Plan (CMMP), development of and compliance with the Long-Term Stewardship Plan, and the recording of an Environmental Covenant restricting groundwater withdrawal and requiring the installation of a vapor mitigation system beneath enclosed buildings.
DNREC issued a public notice of the Proposed Plan for the Clifford Brown Walk & E. 12th St. Site on September 8, 2024. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan. Details of the Final Plan are available online at: den.dnrec.delaware.gov.
