Notice has been given that:
Perdue Foods, LLC, requested a temporary emergency variance to construct and operate a 20.92 MMBTU/hr natural gas fired boiler at their 255 N. Rehoboth Blvd, Milford facility on August 29, 2023. The variance was granted on August 30, 2023, and will remain in effect until a permit can be issued for a period not to exceed thirty days. The boiler will remain at the facility until the existing permitted boiler is repaired.
A temporary permit application was also submitted and will be processed as a separate action pursuant to 7 DE. Admin Code 1102 Section 11.13. The boiler will be permitted to emit 0.82 tons per year of CO, 1.53 tons per year of NOX, 0.026 tons per year of SOX, 0.16 tons per year of VOCs, 0.33 tons per year of PM10 and 0.33 tons per year of PM2.5 by Permit: APC-2024/0019-CONSTRUCTION/OPERATION (Temporary). Please note that the emissions from this temporary boiler will also be restricted by the facility’s existing Synthetic Minor permit (Permit: APC-1982/0395-OPERATION (Amendment 10) (NSPS) (VOC RACT) (SM)) which limits facility wide emissions to 0.07 tons per year of SOX, 11.20 tons per year of NOX, 8.37 tons per year of CO, 0.85 tons per year of total PM, and 0.58 tons per year of VOCs.
