A Federal Consistency Certification has been submitted to the Delaware Coastal Management Program (DCMP) for the following: Fenwick Island Channel Dredging (2023.0073)
Town of Fenwick Island proposes to hydraulically dredge approximately 19,000 cubic yards of material in the north and south channels of Little Assawoman Bay in Sussex County, Delaware to a depth of -4 feet mean low water with a 1-foot allowable over-dredge. The combined channel length would be approximately 4,000 linear feet and the combined surface area would be approximately 4.6 acres. Dredged material would be transported via pipeline to an upland placement area west of the Bay.
The proposed activity is subject to review for consistency under the policies of the DCMP.
