The Department has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of Black Oak Development Site OU-1 (DE-1863) located at 14241 Black Oak Drive in Lewes. The Site was historically used for agricultural purposes and consists of approximately 24 acres of a larger 77-acre parcel. The site is divided into two operable units, OU-2 will be addressed separately.
Black Oak Development Site, OU-1 will be subject to the following key remedial actions: the submittal of a Remedial Action Work Plan (RAWP) which specifies the methods to be used to remediate the site including the removal and disposal of primarily arsenic-impacted soils to meet DNREC Hazardous Substance Cleanup Act (HSCA) standards, development and compliance with the Contaminated Materials Management Plan (CMMP), and the submittal of a Remedial Action Completion Report.
DNREC issued a public notice of the Proposed Plan for the Black Oak Development Site OU-1 on October 6, 2024. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan. Details of the Final Plan are available online at: den.dnrec.delaware.gov
