The Department has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of the Claymont Cleaners/Joe and Tony’s Service Site located in Claymont, Delaware. The Site, once used as a drycleaner and autobody shop, was required to be divided into two Operable Units. The cleanup requirements include: an Environmental Covenant to limit groundwater withdrawal from the Site, restrict OU-2 to nonresidential uses and limit slab disturbance in the OU-2 structure, compliance with a Contaminated Material Management Plan, and compliance with a Long-Term Stewardship Plan.
DNREC issued public notice of the Proposed Plan for Claymont Cleaners/Joe and Tony’s Service on October 28, 2020. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan. Details of the Final Plan are available online at: www.nav.dnrec.delaware.gov/DEN3/
