The Department has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of Operable Unit 10 (OU-10) Archive Building of the Fort Dupont Redevelopment (DE-1618) located at the intersection of Powers Lane and Engineer Road in Delaware City. OU-10 is the tenth of multiple Operable Units (OUs) within the over 300-acre Fort Dupont Site that had historically been occupied and operated as a Formerly Used Defense Site (FUDS) and later as the Governor Bacon Health Center. OU-10 close and abandon the monitoring wells in accordance with state and local regulations; and record an Environmental Covenant restricting land use to non-residential and limiting groundwater withdrawal.
DNREC issued a public notice of the Proposed Plan for Operable Unit 10 (OU-10) Archive Building of the Fort Dupont Redevelopment (DE-1618) on October 8, 2023. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan. Details of the Final Plan are available online at: den.dnrec.delaware.gov
