The Department has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of the 517 Shipley Street Site located in Wilmington. The Site has been developed since the 1880s as commercial printing, two former dry cleaners, electrical equipment storage and paint shop. The Site requires a vapor barrier on the elevator pit, a Long-Term Stewardship Plan, a Contaminated Material Management Plan and an Environmental Covenant restricting groundwater use.
DNREC issued a public notice of the Proposed Plan for the 517 Shipley Street Site on May 12, 2021. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan. Details of the Final Plan are available online at: www.nav.dnrec.delaware.gov/den3/Detail/FacilityDetail.aspx?id=10754955
