The Department has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of IRP Site 2 (Soil) of the Delaware Air National Guard Site located in New Castle. The Site is an active military base, and the removal of underground storage tanks and petroleum contaminated soil, along with a bioventing system was previously required to clean-up contamination at IRP Site 2. The amended plan reflects the addition of land use controls to the remedy.
DNREC issued public notice of the Amended Proposed Plan for IRP Site 2 (Soil) of the Delaware Air National Guard Site on March 21, 2021. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Amended Proposed Plan. Details of the Amended Final Plan are available online at: www.nav.dnrec.delaware.gov/DEN3/
