The ombudsman helps communities identify and understand environmental problems. And helps the department understand the needs of communities.
The ombudsman’s role is to engage with communities to identify, understand and resolve environmental issues.
The ombudsman also assists communities with navigating departmental programs and processes.
Help the Community Ombudsman get to know your community by joining the Community Assets Campaign. The ombudsman will use this information to increase the flow of information between communities and the department.
If you have a standing meeting or an event in your community, be sure to send the Community Ombudsman an invitation.
The Community Ombudsman manages the Community Environmental Project Fund, which provides money to support the restoration of the environment in communities that were damaged by environmental pollution.
