The Department has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of the Fisher Road/Monarch Glen Site located in Milton. The Site was partly operated by a fertilizer company starting in the early 1950s. The structure on the Site, and three nearby railroad cars, burned down during 1981.
Groundwater withdrawal on a portion of the site is being restricted by an environmental covenant. In addition, the site will require a Long-term Stewardship plan to detail the groundwater monitoring requirements.
DNREC issued a public notice of the Proposed Plan for the Fisher Road/Monarch Glen Site on June 26, 2022. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan.
Details of the Final Plan are available online at: den.dnrec.delaware.gov
