Water Allocation Permit Applications

Rockland Sports, LLC (DuPont Country Club) has requested a renewal of its golf course water allocation for one existing irrigation surface intake. The maximum daily withdrawal is 360,000 gallons per day. The intake is located north of Wilmington in New Castle County, near the intersection of Rockland and Powder Mill Roads. Tax parcel 0610900001.

The City of Newark has applied for a renewal of its public water allocation permits serving approximately 36,500 people in New Castle County. The application includes one existing public surface intake and thirteen existing public wells. The requested allocation (system total) is 23.33 million gallons (MG) per day, 477.01 MG per month, and 3,376.54 MG per year.

Cecil Pepper has requested an allocation permit for one proposed replacement irrigation well. The maximum daily withdrawal is 864,000 gallons per day. The well will be located east of Seaford in Sussex County, near the intersection of Pepper and Baker Mill Roads. Tax parcel 231-18.00-27.00.

A public hearing on the above applications will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC determines that a public hearing is in the public interest or if a written meritorious objection to the application is received by December 21, 2020, at 4:30 p.m. A public hearing request shall be deemed meritorious if it exhibits a familiarity with the application and provides a reasoned statement of the action’s probable impact.
