Notice has been given that:

DuPont Specialty Products USA, LLC Experimental Station, requests a permit to repair the stack for Boilers 1 and 2 at their 974 Centre Road facility. The stack repairs will result in a reduction in stack height from 100 feet to 80 feet. There will be no changes to boiler operations or permitted emissions. The emission limitations for Boilers 1 and 2 have been made federally enforceable through prior permitting actions and will not be changed. Boiler 1 will be permitted to emit 58.87 tons per year of NOX, 30.66 tons per year of CO, 3.13 tons per year of PM, 0.25 tons per year of SOX, and 2.27 tons per year of VOCs by Permit: APC-1982/0081-CONSTRUCTION (Amendment 5) (NOX RACT). Boiler 2 will be permitted to emit 58.87 tons per year of NOX, 30.66 tons per year of CO, 3.13 tons per year of PM, 0.25 tons per year of SOX, and 2.27 tons per year of VOCs by Permit: APC-1982/0082-CONSTRUCTION (Amendment 5) (NOX RACT).

A public hearing on any of the above applications will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC receives a request for a hearing regarding that application within 15 days from the date of this notice, ending May 29, 2023. A request for a hearing shall be in writing. The request must also show a familiarity with the application and a reasoned statement of the permit’s probable impact.
