Learn about the key design principles behind effective sediment basins.

Sediment basins are one of the most important temporary stormwater controls used on construction sites to prevent sediment-laden runoff from leaving disturbed areas and impacting downstream water quality. When properly designed and implemented, these basins can significantly improve sediment removal efficiency and reduce maintenance demands.

This presentation explores the key design principles behind effective sediment basins based on the International Erosion Control Association (IECA) sediment basin detail.

Participants will gain a practical understanding of how basin configuration and component selection influence overall performance. The presentation highlights four critical components that work together to maximize sediment capture.

This webinar is part of a series that provides a comprehensive overview of Delaware’s sediment, erosion and stormwater management requirements.

These training opportunities will cover regulatory processes, design, construction, stabilization, maintenance and review. Sessions include both practical field applications and technical guidance.

The webinar is free, but pre-registration is required.
