Join a workshop regarding planned remediation at the Delmarva Power Silverside-Naamans Road Transmission Line Site.
The Site (DE-1884) includes soils that have been contaminated by lead-based paint flaking off metal towers that carry the Silverside-Naamans Transmission Line. This remediation project is anticipated to begin in Spring 2026.
DNREC Remediation Section staff, representatives from Delmarva Power, and Delmarva Power’s contractors will be available to answer questions from those in the community affected by the remediation project. Also, a representative of the DHSS Division of Public Health Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program will be there to answer any health-related questions.
The Silverside-Naamans Road Transmission Line Site (DE-1884) is part of the DNREC Voluntary Cleanup Program, which allows parties who may be liable for the contamination of a property to clean up any contamination before the department orders a cleanup under the Hazardous Substance Cleanup Act (HSCA).
