DNREC recently announced the adoption of temporary deer hunting and rehabilitation regulations to try to limit the spread of Chronic Wasting Disease and confine it to the area where it has been found in central Sussex County. Staff from the Division of Fish and Wildlife will explain the temporary regulation provisions and why they are necessary.

DNREC will listen to community feedback and take questions during meeting. Those interested in speaking should email DNREC_DeerMgmt@delaware.gov by 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, or arrive early to sign up in person, starting at 6:10 p.m.

Note: This meeting is informational and not part of a formal public comment related to the regulations.

Find more information about Chronic Wasting Disease, including the state’s response plan to the outbreak and guidance for the public for dealing with it, on the DNREC Chronic Wasting Disease webpage.
