The City of Rehoboth Beach has requested renewal of their existing agricultural utilization permit, State Permit Number AGU 1502-S-03. The current permit allows the land application of stabilized Class B biosolids, generated at the City of Rehoboth Beach Wastewater Treatment Facility onto an 85-acre portion of the James Well Farm, at agronomic rates. The biosolids and soils at the permitted farm undergo periodic analysis for a list of specific parameters including nutrient content and metals. The James Wells Farm is located on the south side of Slaughter Neck Road (Country Road 215), approximately 6 miles southeast of Milford, Delaware.
The Department’s Guidance and Regulations Governing the Land Treatment of Wastes, Part III, B., Regulations Governing the Land Treatment of Sludges and Sludge Products allows for such activity pending public notice.
