The Department invites public comment on a proposal to clean-up The Falls Site located in Wilmington. The Site, was used as a textile mill from the 1830’s to 2003. The Proposed Plan is being revised for a fourth time to account for new operable units to allow a phased construction approach and incorporate an administrative change in the Site name. In accordance with the Remedial Action Work Plan submitted and approved by DNREC-RS in January 2018, the site will be capped with two feet of clean fill or impervious materials. In addition, use restrictions and long-term stewardship of the cap will be required.
Details of the Proposed Plan are available online at: http://www.nav.dnrec.delaware.gov/DEN3/
The comment period ends on April 13, 2020. For additional information, please contact Patrick Boettcher, Project Managers at (302) 395-2600 or via email at RS_Public_Comments@delaware.gov.
