The Department invites public comment on a proposal to clean-up the 1175 East 7th Street Site (DE-1775) [“Site”] located at 1175 East 7th Street in Wilmington. Historically, the Site was used as a municipal landfill for the City of Wilmington. It is currently overgrown with vegetation.
The Site will be subject to the following key remedial actions: placement of a cap consisting of impervious material, such as asphalt or concrete, or at least one feet of DNREC-approved fill material, the recording of an Environmental Covenant with the property deed that restricts property use to non-residential and also groundwater withdrawal and required compliance with the site-specific Contaminated Materials Management Plan (CMMP) and Long-Term Stewardship (LTS) Plan.
Details of the Proposed Plan of Remedial Action are available online at: den.dnrec.delaware.gov
The comment period ends at close of business, (4:30 PM), on Monday, August 1, 2022. For additional information, please contact Lindsay Hall, Project Manager, at (302) 395-2600 or via email at RS_Public_Comments@delaware.gov.
