Proposed Plan of Remedial Action

The Department invites public comment on a proposal to clean-up Operable Unit 10 (OU-10) Archive Building of the Fort Dupont Redevelopment (DE-1618) located at the intersection of Powers Lane and Engineer Road in Delaware City. OU-10 is the tenth of multiple Operable Units (OUs) within the over 300-acre Fort Dupont Site that had historically been occupied and operated as a Formerly Used Defense Site (FUDS) and later as the Governor Bacon Health Center. The entire Fort DuPont Site is being investigated and redeveloped as part of a revitalization and preservation effort.

Fort Dupont Redevelopment OU-10 Archive Building will be subject to the following key remedial actions: close and abandon the monitoring wells in accordance with state and local regulations; and record an Environmental Covenant restricting land use to non-residential and limiting groundwater withdrawal.

Details of the Proposed Plan are available online at: den.dnrec.delaware.gov/

The comment period ends on October 30, 2023. For additional information, please contact Morgan McGee-Solomon, Project Manager at (302) 395-2600 or via email at RS_Public_Comments@delaware.gov.
