Freehold Cartage, Inc. has applied to the Commercial & Government Services Section (C&GSS) for a renewal of Non-Hazardous Liquid Waste Transporters Permit DE OH-237 which allows for the transport of non-hazardous liquid waste: landfill leachate from the Central Solid Waste Management Center located in Kent County and the Southern Solid Waste Management Center located in Sussex County, both operated by the Delaware Solid Waste Authority to be disposed of at the City of Wilmington Sewer System via Cherry Island Landfill pumping station in accordance with the Revised Wastewater Discharge Permit W-88-02 (Rev 10) issued by the City of Wilmington Department of Public Works; and the City of Seaford Wastewater Treatment Facility, in accordance with the Wastewater Discharge Permit issued by the City of Seaford.
A public hearing on the above will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC receives a request by 4:30 pm on February 15, 2023, or if the Secretary determines that a public hearing is in the public interest. A request for a hearing shall be in writing and shall state the nature of the issues to be raised at the hearing. It must also show familiarity with the application proposal and a reasoned statement of the permit’s probable impact.
