The Department has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of Operable Unit (OU) 42 of the Hamilton Park/Pyles Lane Site, a residential neighborhood located in New Castle. The Site soils have been impacted likely due to fill materials placed prior to the construction of the homes. The Plan for OU-42 requires the removal of soils within the top two feet below ground surface in select areas to ensure elimination of exposure to existing soils for property users.

DNREC issued a public notice of the Proposed Plan for OU-42 of the Hamilton Park/Pyles Lane Site on October 9, 2022. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan. Details of the Final Plan are available online at: den.dnrec.delaware.gov
