The Department has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of the Operable Unit 3 (OU-3) of the SIP Property Site located in Wilmington. Historically, the Site was used as part of shipbuilding operations. OU-3 of the Site is currently largely wooded but the southwestern corner was cleared and most recently used as a material storage area.
Remedial actions required to be taken at the Site include: the recording of an Environmental Covenant with the property deed that restricts property use to non-residential and required compliance with the site-specific Contaminated Materials Management Plan (CMMP).
DNREC issued a public notice of the Proposed Plan for Operable Unit 3 of the Site on October 20, 2021. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan. Details of the Final Plan are available online at: www.nav.dnrec.delaware.gov/DEN3/
