The Department has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of the 3700 N MARKET STREET Site located in Wilmington. The Site contained several underground storage tanks (USTs). The Site was developed in the early 1930s and has historically been used as a gas station and auto repair shop.
The Site will require a portion of the property to be capped with either impervious material or 1 foot of soil. In addition, an environmental covenant will restrict groundwater usage and soil disturbances on the site. A contaminated materials management plan and long term stewardship plan will be in place to ensure the continued protectiveness of the remedy.
DNREC issued a public notice of the Proposed Plan for the 3700 N MARKET STREET Site on April 10, 2022. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan. Details of the Final Plan are available online at: den.dnrec.delaware.gov
