Federal Consistency Determinations have been submitted to the Delaware Coastal Management Program for the following:

HUD Wilmington Flats Phase 5 (2022.0117)

The applicant proposes to utilize Department of Housing and Urban Development funding to construct high-density residential housing for seniors on a 0.83-acre property at the 400 block of Bayard Avenue and Ferris Street between West 4th and West 5th streets in Wilmington, Delaware, tax parcel 26-026.20.003.

USACE Maurice River Navigation and Beneficial Use (2023.0003)

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers proposes to conduct maintenance dredging in the lower Maurice River Federal Navigation Channel in Maurice River Cove, Cumberland County, New Jersey to the authorized depth of 7 feet below mean lower low water with two feet of overdepth. Approximately 75,000 cubic yards of dredged material would be beneficially placed over approximately 20 acres of wetlands within the northwest reach of the Heislerville Wildlife Management Area. During the placement operation, stabilization measures will be implemented to minimize adverse effects to the environment, such as turbidity curtains, earthen berms, and/or coir logs. The initial sediment placement will be monitored to observe sediment properties and will inform the second placement operation. Subsequent placements of dredge material would serve to restore approximately 35 acres of saltmarsh and intertidal mudflat habitat that are degrading due to excessive flooding.
