Notice has been given that:

Melson Funeral Services, Ltd., requests a permit to construct one (1) natural gas-fired crematory at their 41 Thatcher Street location in Frankford within Sussex County. The crematory will be permitted to emit up to 0.42 pounds per hour and 0.66 tons per year (TPY) of nitrogen oxides (NOX), 0.32 pounds per hour and 0.53 TPY of carbon monoxide (CO), 0.19 pounds per hour and 0.36 TPY of sulfur dioxide (SO2), 0.42 pounds per hour and 0.77 TPY of particulate matter (PM), and 0.03 pounds per hour and 0.05 TPY of total organic compounds (TOCs) by Permit: APC-2021/0004-CONSTRUCTION.

The application for this permit may be reviewed upon request. The application is posted at de.gov/dnrecnotices. To submit comments, for additional information or for information regarding how you can inspect the application, please contact Tracy Mattson at (302) 739‑9402.

A public hearing on any of the above applications will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC receives a request for a hearing regarding that application within 15 days from the date of this notice, ending Monday, September 21, 2020. A request for a hearing shall be in writing. The request must also show a familiarity with the application and a reasoned statement of the permit’s probable impact.
