Join the DNERR team, virtually, for the annual horseshoe crab survey training.
The Delaware National Estuarine Research Reserve (DNERR) is gearing up for horseshoe crab survey season. Those interested in these fascinating creatures should take part in one of the best ecological surveys available.
This training is required to volunteer with DNERR on the three beaches coordinated by DNREC: Kitts Hummock, North Bowers and Ted Harvey.
This training teaches proper survey methods and provides background on the life history of the horseshoe crab and its management.
Participants must be at least 13 years old to participate in the survey. Volunteers under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Volunteers will be asked to complete a short quiz to assess their knowledge at the end of training.
Past participants are required to attend training every three years. Training from 2023 is the last eligible year.
This training is free, but please pre-register to reserve your spot and get connection information.
