Mark your calendar for a planned tree giveaway.
The Sussex Conservation District plans to give away native trees as part of the Tree for Every Delawarean Initiative (TEDI).
Twelve native tree species will be available — one per person on a first-come, first-served basis.
Find information on selecting, planting and caring for trees on the TEDI web page at de.gov/tedi.
The Tree for Every Delawarean Initiative is a collaborative effort involving DNREC, the Delaware Forest Service and other key stakeholders.
Please note that dates and times are subject to change due to weather, rescheduling, etc. Check the event sponsor’s website or call them directly to make sure the event will be held as scheduled, or if you have any questions. Please do not contact the TEDI program. We do not coordinate, staff or host the events.
The TEDI program supplies trees, including the species listed below, to all events. Supplies are limited, however, and there is no guarantee which species will be available when you make your selection. Tree species include red maple, serviceberry, pawpaw, river birch, eastern redbud, white dogwood, persimmon, red cedar, American holly, sweetbay magnolia, eastern white pine and white oak.
