New Castle County plans to give away trees as part of the Tree for Every Delawarean Initiative (TEDI).

Trees will be given away on a “first come” basis. Available trees include Sweetbay, Magnolia, Southern Magnolia, Red Maple, White Oak, Persimmon, River Birch, Red Cedar, White Dogwood and Eastern Redbud.

Follow the park map for pick up. Stay in your vehicle and be prepared with a first, second, and third tree choice. A volunteer will get your tree for you to load and meet you at the loading zone

Then, go home, plant your tree and record it on the TDI tracker.

The Tree for Every Delawarean Initiative is a collaborative effort involving DNREC, the Delaware Forest Service and other key stakeholders.
