Rain Barrel-Building Workshop

Date and Time:
Saturday, April 9, 2022
9 am

Location:
Nanticoke River Public Marine Park
26 North Market Street
Blades, Delaware
Details:

Join staff from DNREC’s Nonpoint Source Program to learn about rain barrels as a tool to help control runoff and nonpoint source pollution.

Workshop participants will be given an overview of rain barrels, including their benefits, proper use, assembly, and maintenance. Among the benefits are rain barrels’ ability to store rainwater from rooftops that would otherwise be lost to runoff and diverted to storm drains and streams.

The workshop is open to Delawareans who live in any of the watersheds within Delaware’s portion of the Chesapeake Bay watershed/basin. Use the “Find Your Watershed” tool at DelawareWatersheds.org and to find out if you are eligible, then register for the workshop.

Workshop participants can build their rain barrel with guidance or to be assisted by DNREC staff. All supplies are provided. The first 20 eligible Delawareans to register for and participate in the workshop will take home their free rain barrel.
