Join a public information session about proposed updates to the beach protection regulations.

The DNREC Division of Watershed Stewardship is considering amendments the Regulation Governing Beach Protection and the Use of Beaches (7 DE Admin. Code 5102). The proposed amendments are intended to enhance the effectiveness of the Coastal Construction Program and strengthen the protection of Delaware’s beach and dune system.

A primary focus of this effort, which began with DNREC Start Action Notice SAN-2025-14, is redefining and remapping the Coastal Construction Building Line, so it reflects current shoreline conditions and future coastal change.

DNREC has convened a Regulatory Advisory Committee to provide guidance and feedback to DNREC on the development of possible amendments. Learn more about the regulatory review and proposed amendments to the beach protection regulations.
