Learn about the process and components of living shorelines in Delaware in a two-day training.

This in-depth, two-day training is open to scientists, engineers, landscape professionals, government entities, marine contractors and students working in Delaware who want to take the first steps in understanding shoreline processes and developing natural shoreline stabilization solutions. It is hosted by the DNREC Wetland Monitoring and Assessment Program and the Delaware Living Shorelines Committee.

The training features instructors from the US Army Corps of Engineers, the US Fish and Wildlife Service, DNREC, private consulting firms and non-profit organizations.

The training runs 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 15 and 16. Attending both days of the training is highly suggested, registration is free.

Topics to be covered include types of living shorelines, site evaluation, design, permitting, plants, habitat creation, example projects and site visits.
