State Public Meeting Calendar Notice

Fees for state parks visits have not been raised in 10 years. DNREC is evaluating a fee increase for entrance, annual and lifetime passes that will enable the parks to sustain current operations and services.

DNREC will hold three open houses in September and October to allow attendees to meet with leaders of the Division of Parks and Recreation and provide input and feedback on the proposal. All three open houses will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

• Tuesday, Sept. 30, at Blue Ball Barn in Alpocas Run State Park, in Wilmington
• Wednesday, Oct. 1, in the Officers Club at Cape Henlopen State Park, in Lewes
• Thursday, Oct. 2, at Killens Pond Nature Center, in Killens Pond State Park, in Felton

Attendees can review materials, ask questions of staff and provide input. There will not be a formal presentation. The public is encouraged to complete a survey on the proposal after attending one of the open houses or reviewing the fee increase materials available online following the first meeting.
