Learn more about state efforts to maintain the beach north of the Indian River Inlet.

DNREC will hold a community information session to provide the history of efforts to maintain the inlet beach area, details about the emergency replenishment work that will happen this winter and long-term plans for the beach.

Governor Carney has announced plans for the state Department of Transportation (DelDOT) to add additional metal sheets and for DNREC to perform an emergency sand replenishment project in the coming months to protect the beach and Delaware Route 1 during the winter storm season.
