Help celebrate Earth Day in Delaware by joining in the Christina River Watershed Cleanup.
DNREC joins the Christina Conservancy and the Partnership for the Delaware Estuary to mobilize volunteers to pick up trash at 13 sites in northern Delaware during the annual cleanup. Volunteers will pick up trash at sites across New Castle County as part of Earth Month activities in Delaware.
Volunteers should pre-register using the Christina River Cleanup volunteer form.
The Christina River Watershed Cleanup is the state’s second-largest such effort, drawing approximately 500 volunteers each year – behind only DNREC’s statewide Delaware Coastal Cleanup. The event focuses on restoring local waterways and raising awareness among northern Delawareans about the importance of clean rivers and streams that provide public drinking water, habitat for fish and wildlife, recreational opportunities and tourism dollars.
