This site visit is a pre-expo activity of the DNERR Estuary Expo. It will be held at the Blackbird Creek Reserve, a northern component of the Delaware National Estuarine Research Reserve (DNERR).
This on-site experience will include:
A walking tour of wetlands installed in wet areas of an agricultural field and our newest reforestation site funded by the 2022 National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) Delaware Watershed Conservation Fund.
A wagon tour of forest and early successional meadow restoration at a site converted from a campground to native upland habitat.
Site visit participants should wear boots or waterproof shoes for walking in potentially wet areas, dress for the weather (layers are encouraged), and bring a hat, water, and insect repellant.
Space is limited. Pre-registration is required.
