The DNREC Division of Waste and Hazardous Substances will conduct a public hearing on the Industrial Waste Landfill permit modification submitted by Delaware Recyclable Products, Inc., for the facility at 246 Marsh Lane, in New Castle. (Public Comment Period Closed)
The DRPI Industrial Waste Landfill application for permit modification requests permission to continue to accept construction and demolition (dry) solid waste from commercial waste haulers for disposal, and to increase the final maximum landfill elevation from 130 feet mean sea level (MSL) to 190 feet MSL. There are no proposed changes to the footprint of the landfill or the groundwater monitoring plan. The facility hours of operation and the maximum daily tonnage of 2,400 tons will not change.
The permit application is available for review during business hours at DNREC’s Solid & Hazardous Waste Management Section office at 89 Kings Highway in Dover or at DNREC’s office at 391 Lukens Drive in New Castle. The documents are also available online.
Persons wishing to comment on the proposed amendments may do so either orally or in written form at the public hearing on May 29, 2019. In lieu of attending the hearing, written comments may be submitted to the Hearing Officer, on or before close of business on Friday, June 28, 2019.
