Bring your family to a freshwater fishing pond in your county for the 2025 Youth Fishing Tournament.

The annual Youth Fishing Tournament introduces the state’s youth to the sport of fishing, along with the catch-and-release approach to conservation.

The tournament will be held at one public pond in each Delaware County:

• New Castle County – Lums Pond Dog Training Area, Bear
• Kent County – Akridge Scout Reservation, Camden
• Sussex County – Blockhouse Pond, Lewes

Contestants must bring their own fishing equipment. Catch and release is encouraged.

Trophies will be awarded to first place winners in each age group based on the weight of the fish they catch. There will be an overall county winner and a statewide winner. Awards will be presented at 1:30 p.m.

The program is free, and open to anglers aged 4 to 15. Pre-Registration is required by May 23, 2025.
