Learn what it takes to help monitor fledgling Peregrine falcons in a nest box in downtown Wilmington.

A young raptor -- a hunting bird -- srtrides along a building ledge with its wings raised as if it about to fly.Join the DNREC Division of Fish and Wildlife for a training session for the Wilmington Falcon Fledge Watch. Community scientist volunteers dedicate time each year to monitor young falcons leaving their nest site – a nest box on the 19th floor of the Brandywine Building in Wilmington.

Participants must be at least 18 years of age (or accompanied by an adult) and ready to commit at least two hours at a time (when available) to monitor the nest site.

All volunteers, even those with past experience, should attend this annual training.
