The Department invites public comment on an amended proposal to clean-up of the Former Rodney Dorm Site located in Newark. The Site, once used by the University of Delaware for student housing and dining hall, requires the following remedial actions: abatement/removal of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs), lead-based paint, and other hazardous materials; the removal and disposal of all Polychlorinated Biphenyl (PCB) containing fluids and equipment; conduct supplemental concrete pad investigation to delineate the PCB impact to concrete in Buildings A/B, C/D, and the Power House Building after demolition; remove all monitoring wells once no longer needed; completed a Contaminated Materials Management Plan (CMMP); issue an Environmental Covenant restricting land use to non-residential uses, limit groundwater withdrawal, and compliance with the DNREC-approved CMMP; and submit a Remedial Action Completion Report once all action items are completed
