Notice has been given that:
The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, requests a construction/operating permit for a 1000 kW diesel-fired emergency generator at their 1601 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, Delaware Facility. The emergency generator will be used to provide on-site electrical power supply during an emergency while the Facility replaces the existing 600 kW unit with a new unit of similar capacity. The emergency generator will be permitted to emit 3.84 tons of Nitrogen Oxides (NOx), 0.49 ton of Carbon Monoxide (CO), 0.01 ton of Non-Methane Hydrocarbons (NMHC), 0.005 ton of Sulfur Dioxide (SO2), and 0.14 ton of Particulate Matter (PM) by Permit # APC-2020/0062 – CONSTRUCTION/OPERATION.

A public hearing on any of the above applications will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC receives a request for a hearing regarding that application within 15 days from the date of this notice, ending March 23, 2020. A request for a hearing shall be in writing. The request must also show a familiarity with the application and a reasoned statement of the permit’s probable impact.
