Final Plan of Remedial Action for the Community Plaza New Castle Operable Unit 2 Site (DE-1567)

The Department has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of the Community Plaza New Castle Operable Unit 1 (OU-2) Site locatedin New Castle. The Site has two commercial buildings used as a shopping center. One of the buildings has a dry cleaner.  OU-1 addresses soil contamination and OU-2 addresses groundwater and soil gas.  The remedy of OU-2 consists of an environmental covenant limiting groundwater withdrawal, compliance with a Long-Term Stewardship Plan (LTS), and compliance with a contaminated material management plan (CMMP).

DNREC issued public notice of the Proposed Plan for Operable Unit 2 of the Community Plaza New Castle on October 30, 2019.  There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan.  Details of the Final Plan and comments are available at the offices of DNREC-RS (391 Lukens Drive, New Castle, DE, 19720) or online at:
