Federal Consistency Determinations have been submitted to the Delaware Coastal Management Program for the following:
Omnibus Deep-Sea Coral Amendment (2019.0114)
NOAA’s National Marine Fisheries Service is proposing the Omnibus Deep-Sea Coral Amendment to implement measures that reduce impacts of fishing gear on deep-sea corals in the Gulf of Maine and on the outer continental shelf. This measure would prohibit the use of all bottom tending gear along the outer continental shelf in waters no shallower than 600 meters.
Habitat Clam Dredge Exemption Framework (2019.0115)
NOAA’s National Marine Fisheries Service is proposing to implement the Habitat Clam Dredge Exemption Framework as part of Omnibus Amendment 2 for the Great South Channel Habitat Management Area (HMA). This framework would allow the surfclam fishery to operate dredge gear year round in two areas and seasonally in one area off of the coast of Massachusetts within the HMA.
