Groundwater Discharges Section Permit Applications

On-Site Wastewater Treatment and Disposal System

Waste Management, Inc. has applied for a permit to construct a holding tank on their property located on the north side of Trussum Pond Road ~322’ west of Old Stage Road near Laurel, Delaware. Sussex County Tax parcel number 3-32-2.00-79.00. The holding tank will serve a maintenance garage with a design flow rate of 1050 gallons per day.

Dover Interfaith Mission has applied for an on-site wastewater treatment and disposal system permit.  The system has been designed to accommodate 600 gallons per day generated by a halfway house. The site is located on 7953 South Dupont Hwy in Felton, DE, Kent County tax map # 7-00-12000-01-0900.

Akshar, LLC has applied for a permit to construct an on-site wastewater treatment and disposal system on their property located on the west side of US Rt. 13 (Sussex Highway), ~.25 miles north of C.R. 589 (Greenwood Road) near Greenwood Delaware. Sussex County Tax Map # 5-30-5.00-38.00  The system will serve an existing two (2) bedroom dwelling and an existing 16 room motel with a design flow rate of 2080 gallons per day.

Non-Hazardous Liquid Waste Transporters Permit (Amendment)

Midway Services, Inc. has applied to the Groundwater Discharges Section for an amendment to their Non-Hazardous Liquid Waste Transporters Permit to include the Sussex County Sewer System as a disposal facility for septage and holding tank waste.

A public hearing on the above applications will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC determines that a public hearing is in the public interest or if a written meritorious objection to the application is received within 15 days from this notice.  A public hearing request shall be deemed meritorious if it exhibits a familiarity with the application and provides a reasoned statement of the action’s probable impact.
