Tidewater Utilities, Inc. has applied for a modification of its public water allocation for the Rehoboth Lewes District that serves approximately 24,000 people between Paynters Mill development and Bay Vista in Sussex County. The requested allocation is 4.0 million gallons (MG) per day, 95.22 MG per month, and 665.78 MG per year.
GLH of Lewes, LLC has requested an irrigation allocation for one proposed agricultural well. The maximum daily withdrawal for the well would be 504,000 gallons per day. The well will be located south of Lewes in Sussex County, near the intersection of Gills Neck Rd and Kings Hwy. Tax parcel 3-35-12.00-3.11.

A public hearing on the above applications will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC determines that a public hearing is in the public interest or if a written meritorious objection to the application is received by March 18, 2019, at 4:30 p.m. A public hearing request shall be deemed meritorious if it exhibits a familiarity with the application and provides a reasoned statement of the action’s probable impact.
