Learn about living shorelines and how they can be used to protect and improve your property.
With erosion and the impacts of sea level rise effecting our shorelines, there’s a lot to protect. This lecture will explore living shorelines as a type of green infrastructure, how it uses natural materials and example projects.
Presenter Olivia Allread, of DNREC’s Division of Watershed Stewardship, will cover the goals and benefits of this method of shoreline stabilization, and share how to determine if a living shoreline is the right approach for a specific property. She will also discuss available resources and user-friendly tools for the future of coastal properties.
This event is free, but preregistration is required.
