Learn about, and comment on, preliminary recommendations from the Coastal Zone Conversion Permit Act Regulatory Advisory Committee for changes to the Delaware Coastal Zone Act regulations.
The Coastal Zone Conversion Permit Act requires DNREC to develop and promulgate regulations for the redevelopment of 14 heavy industry use sites in Delaware’s Coastal Zone by Oct. 1, 2019. The Advisory Committee has developed a series of preliminary recommendations for those changes.
The open house, one of three planned for New Castle County in February, will include a video presentation about the legislative changes and the process leading to the Regulatory Advisory Committee’s preliminary recommendations. There will be various informational booths that explain the different aspects of the preliminary recommendations.
The open house runs from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Members of the public may attend at any point and for any length of time during the open house. Attendees will be able to provide input on feedback forms available at the workshop and online.
Public input gathered at the workshops will be compiled by the Consensus Building Institute (CBI), a non-profit organization that has facilitated the Regulatory Advisory Committee’s meetings. The CBI will compile all public input into a report for the Committee to consider before submitting final recommendations to DNREC.
