The Department invites public comment on a proposal to clean-up Operable Units 2 and 3 of the Milford Mosquito Control Site located in Milford. The Site, been occupied by the State of DNREC-DFW Mosquito Control section for over fifty-eight (58) years. During their occupation of the Site, Mosquito Control operations included the storage, mixing, and transferring of pesticide and pesticide-mixtures for distribution and application throughout the State. In 1989, a pesticide-mixture release from an aboveground storage tank (“AST”) occurred on the site. Based upon the 2020 Limited Remedial Investigation (“LRI”) report findings, OU-2 requires a limitation of groundwater withdrawal.
Details of the Proposed Plan are available online at: www.nav.dnrec.delaware.gov/DEN3/
The comment period ends on April 20, 2020. For additional information, please contact Morgan McGee-Solomon, Project Manager at (302) 395-2600 or via email at RS_Public_Comments@delaware.gov.
