Allocation Permit Applications

Dover Air Force Base has applied for a renewal of one of its public water allocation permits which serves approximately 6,000 people in Kent County.  The application includes four existing public wells.  The requested allocation is 6.04 million gallons (MG) per day, 50.0 MG per month, and 380.0 MG per year.

Herbert Grier Stayton has requested an allocation permit for one proposed irrigation well. The maximum daily withdrawal is 720,000 gallons per day. The well will be located south of Houston in Kent County, near the intersection of Deep Grass Lane and Hunting Quarter Road. Tax parcel MN-00-195.00-01-01.00.

Dean Ricks has requested an allocation permit for one proposed irrigation well. The maximum daily withdrawal is 1,440,000 gallons per day. The well will be located northwest of Seaford in Sussex County, near the intersection of Neals School and Bloxom School Roads. Tax parcel 531-6.00-42.01.

Leon C. Donovan, Trustee has requested an allocation permit for two proposed irrigation wells. The maximum daily withdrawal is 1,152,000 gallons per day. The wells will be located west of Harrington in Kent County, near the intersection of Whiteleysburg and Fox Hunters Roads. Tax parcel MN-00-168.00-01-15.00.

A public hearing on the above applications will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC determines that a public hearing is in the public interest or if a written meritorious objection to the application is received by December 30, 2019, at 4:30 p.m.  A public hearing request shall be deemed meritorious if it exhibits a familiarity with the application and provides a reasoned statement of the action’s probable impact.
