Wastewater Facilities Construction Permit Application: Sussex County

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, Division of Water, hereby gives notice that a permit application for the construction of wastewater conveyance has been received concerning the following:

Sussex County proposes to install a duplex submersible sanitary sewer pump station, approximately seven thousand one hundred and fifty-seven linear feet (7,157 LF) of three (3) and four (4) inch diameter sanitary sewer force main and related appurtenances to serve the Joy Beach community and dwellings along Bookhammer Landing Rd., Waterview Rd. and one thousand three hundred and fifty linear feet (1,350 LF) of Camp Arrowhead Rd. The project is located southeast of Marshtown and the John J. Williams Highway in Sussex County, Delaware. The proposed pump station will be installed at the intersection of Bookhammer Landing Road and Hunt Club Rd. The proposed force main will run west on the south side of Bookhammer Landing Rd. and Waterview Rd., turn south on the east side of Camp Arrowhead Rd. and discharge to an existing Sussex County gravity sewer manhole located on Camp Arrowhead Rd. approximately 1,375 LF south of the Waterview Rd. intersection.

A public hearing concerning the above application will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC determines that a hearing is in the public interest or if a written meritorious request for a hearing is received on or before January 4, 2023. A request for a public hearing shall be deemed meritorious if it exhibits a familiarity with the application and provides a reasoned statement of the permit’s probable impact.
